NAVY CLUB OF THE UNITED STATES MILITARY EXCELLENCE AWARD: Presented to the graduating recruit who best exemplifies the qualities of enthusiasm, devotion to duty, military appearance and behavior, self-discipline and teamwork. The following is a description of the six awards: RTC sends a letter to a recruit's home of record to inform families that their recruit has earned an award and received special recognition at graduation. The Award Winners are chosen among recruits who go before a board of RTC personnel for inspection and questions. In that case, the family of the replacement award winner will be informed as soon as the change is made, which could be two days before PIR.Įach Award Winner will receive a commemorative token from the commanding officer in recognition of their superlative achievements during recruit training.Īt each Pass-In-Review, the six recipients of awards will be announced. (If you go to the site after that, then click on the link and change the date to the date for the PIR you want using a three letter abbreviation for the month.) If a recruit who was chosen as an award winner does not have PIR as scheduled, then that recruit will not receive the award and another recruit will be chosen for the award. You can also print out the Graduation Program through a link on the RTC website beginning two days before PIR (click the link under the heading, "Recruit Graduation Award Winner Certificate") you must do so before the next week's program is posted, usually two days prior to PIR. The Award Winners will be posted on the RTC website two days prior to PIR and will be recognized at PIR. If your recruit has been chosen for one of these awards, then about 1-2 weeks before PIR, you will receive a letter informing you of this and letting you know of other special events will occur on the day of PIR in recognition of the award. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. Please note!
